What does “queer” mean?
- PinkPanthers will often use the term “queer” in original posts in order to include the many sexual and gender identities that exist within the LGBTQ community. It’s simply a way of replacing a very long acronym and a way to refer to all of us as a community. This, we believe, allows for individual identification as well as an expression of unity and inclusiveness.
Why isn’t there equal representation of all sexual and gender identities on this blog?
- PinkPanthers tends to proportionally reflect how identities are being represented on Tumblr and in society (media, news, etc.). Unfortunately, not all identities are being well-represented in these areas. Therefore, PinkPanthers isn’t as equal either. It is because of this that we urge our followers to submit posts representing these identities. As much as we want to be completely inclusive, we recognize that this blog is primarily a “gay blog” with some other identities dispersed throughout. Again, to help us fix this, we urge you to submit relevant posts and invite you to follow other blogs that will be more specific to your interests.
